Restorative Yoga & Meditation Immersion Beginning March 8th!
The timing could not be better! We all need to reset, recharge, and rejuvenate.
Let yourself enjoy this immersion as a well-deserved treat.
Trauma can be caused by a single incident or develop slowly over time. Often, it stems from feelings of isolation, fear, and a lack of community. My personal experience with anxiety and PTSD enables me to appreciate how important it is to rewire the brain. To avoid suffering on a daily basis, I've learned to relax, something I am not naturally adept at.
Is restorative yoga a cure? Is meditation a cure? No, but they are two powerful tools in your toolbox and when used correctly and consistently, they are incredibly beneficial.
Did you know that our brain needs a minimum of 12 minutes to reach a meditative state? In terms of that, did you know that a posture in a restorative practice is held for an average of 3-5 minutes? Despite being able to relax our body to some degree in that time and feel nice, holding a restorative posture not only requires more time to set up due to the beautiful props, but we also need to hold each position for a much longer period of time to really impact our minds.
During this Immersion, we will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 - 8:00 PM. You will be taught the what and why of these practices followed by a therapeutic physical and meditative practice. During each of the 10 sessions, we will explore different sequences for specific outcomes and benefits.
Each session will leave you feeling refreshed, calm and balanced, and ready for a good night's sleep. By the end of this immersion, you will have the tools to adapt your practice to suit your ongoing needs. Most importantly, you'll just feel great and you'll understand why.
