Foundations of Yin Yoga & Meditation Immersion

January 17th - 19th, 2020

with Marlena Bruno

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic yoga styles that are predominantly practiced today. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes applying gentle tension on the deep layers of connective tissue in our body. Physically, Yin Yoga rejuvenates and sustains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, improving our body’s energetic flow and promoting physical and mental balance. Yin Yoga's emphasis on stillness and silence prepares both our body and our mind for deeper experiences in meditation.

Who this is for? This Foundational Immersion is suitable for current teachers who want to teach Yin Yoga, or those simply wishing to develop a deeper understanding of the practice.

You'll learn

  • The principles of Yin Yoga

  • Pranayama practices that support the energy body in Yin postures

  • An understanding of the meridian and organ systems and how they relate to Yin Yoga

  • Easy Meditation Techniques to apply in self-practice and leading others.

  • Learn Yin sequences which correspond to specific meridian lines in the body, for desired results with modifications and adjustments.

  • Understand the positive physiological effects of Yin Yoga on the fascia, connective tissue, and joint health

Upon completion of this immersion, you'll return home ready to safely and competently lead others in the practice of Yin Yoga.
