Anatomy Of Yoga: Teacher Training Weekend

Yoga Teachers – When’s the last time you revisited Anatomy??? Has it been more then a year?

If you’re a yoga teacher- this course is for you!

We are so happy to have David Vendetti, the co-owner of South Boston Yoga leading your anatomy section in the Mantra Yoga 200hr Training. We recognize the importance of this in better serving our students so we’ve opened this weekend up to include current yoga teachers with a desire to stay up to date with the latest information in anatomy.

David, a self professed anatomy geek makes anatomy super accessible and FUN! He’s an amazing teacher, gifted body worker and has been a regularly featured teacher at Yoga Reaches Out and Wanderlust.

This is a great opportunity for current yoga teachers to refresh your knowledge in anatomy, learn how to look at your students body and determine how you can help bring them back to their natural state with the latest scientific research as it applies to your teachings.

This incredible and accessible weekend of experiential anatomy will include both discussion and lecture. We will start by working on exploring our skeletal system and partner up for a meditative journey to help further instill the knowledge.
We then move on to the ways in which our fascinating bodies move and how yoga, massage and personal training can help create more energy and better alignment. As we learn the muscles of the body we will pause halfway through to do some partner isometric work to aid in standing taller, walking better and help to clear low back pain. Then we will take a tour of the upper body muscles. After the upper body is done we will again double up and work with some basic massage techniques to relax and open the shoulders and chest.

Day two: involves a deeper discussion of how to read posture and imbalance and the ways to use props and smart sequencing to help with injury and understanding the mechanics of more challenging poses. The day will close with an incredible full body ball rolling class to revisit the anatomy, reinvigorate and relax.
